Client Policies

I strive to provide clear and transparent client, booking, and payment policies. While I always aim to be flexible and accommodating within reason, the guidelines below help ensure a smooth experience and allow me to deliver the highest quality service to every client. Please expect these policies to be upheld as described.

Group Training Classes

Booking and Payments: If you’ve enrolled in a Group Training Class through a city parks and recreation department, all scheduling questions, payments, refunds, and class changes must be handled directly through that department. If you’ve booked a private group training class at your home, all scheduling and payments will be managed directly through Lovebug.

Requirements: All dogs participating in group training classes must have complete and up-to-date vaccination records, without exception. Dogs are required to be current on Bordetella, Distemper, and Rabies vaccinations to ensure the safety and well-being of every dog in class. Records may be emailed to sarah@lovebug.dog or brought in person on the first day of class. Dog to handler ratio must be 1 to 1 - if you are bringing multiple dogs in your household to class, each one must have a separate handler. No person under the age of 18 is admitted to class without a parent or guardian.

For everyone’s safety, dogs must remain leashed (flat / rope leashes- no retractable leashes for class) at all times in properly fitted gear (collar or harness). I’m always happy to help adjust your dog’s equipment or provide recommendations if needed.

Private 1x1 Training Sessions

Booking Policies: I offer a complimentary 15-minute virtual or phone consultation before scheduling any private training sessions. This allows us to ensure we’re a good fit and feel comfortable working together. Once we schedule our first in person session, you will be required to fill out a registration form and complete a click-to-sign service agreement. These documents must be completed ahead of my arrival - if you are having any trouble filling them out or accessing them, please reach out to me and I’ll be happy to walk you through the process!

Rescheduling and Cancellations: I understand that life happens (on both sides!) and plans sometimes need to change. I kindly request at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations whenever possible. If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice once, no worries — we’ll simply reschedule as normal. However, if it happens two or more times, the session will be forfeited. This policy is enforced without exception, as consistency and commitment are key to making meaningful progress in training. If our one-hour session keeps getting pushed to the back burner, it’s unlikely you’ll see the results you’re working toward.

Clients have 3 months to complete a 3 session training package and 6 months to complete a package with 5 or more sessions. All unused sessions after this time will be forfeit. One no-show results in a forfeited session, 2 or more no-shows results in a forfeiture of all remaining sessions.

Payments: Payments for your initial consultation are due ahead of our session, and payable via Zelle or Venmo. If you are unable to pay electronically, please just let me know and I’ll be happy to provide an alternative option. Training package payments are due in full ahead of our first training session without exception. No scheduled session is confirmed without payment in advance or an agreed upon alternative.

Virtual Sessions

Virtual sessions offer the convenience of training from your own home, allowing your dog to learn in a familiar, comfortable environment. They’re a flexible and cost-effective way to receive professional guidance, making it easier to maintain consistent training. Virtual sessions are suitable for a wide range of training and behavioral goals, including housebreaking/potty-training, preparing to bring a new dog home, addressing new behavior concerns, food-related issues, fear, separation anxiety, and more.

Scheduling: You can schedule a virtual session by clicking this link or navigating to www.lovebug.dog/virtual. You can select a time and date that works for you on the Calendly calendar, and I will confirm it shortly after! If you’re not sure whether your issue is suitable for a virtual session, please don’t hesitate to reach out and we can discuss.

Payments: Virtual sessions are $75 and payable via Zelle or Venmo. All payments must be sent up to 24h ahead of the scheduled meeting time, or the slot will be forfeited. There are no exceptions.
